US Coins in Europe

Is there any premium for US coins in Europe? If I took US "junk" silver and sold it in Berlin or Paris would I get a good deal since this is stuff from across the pond?

I am interested in old silver coins, nor bullion or gold of any sort.

Based on my somewhat limited experience, the short answer is No.

Generally, the lower the melt value the higher the premium. So for instance, I've bought 40% Kennedys for 25% over spot and 90% for 10% premium. That is, if one can find any. What catalinas is reporting from the ME applies to central Europe just as well. Even the domestic stuff is getting tight.

Of course, when it comes to numismatics (even circulating coinage of specific years/mintmarks/condition) the price gets totally detached from the melt value.

Thanks, I suppose if the supplies continue to fall then perhaps there will be greater prices for US coins. I wouldn't using silver as an international currency by exchanging it into Euros (or Korun) rather than using dollars to exchage.

Prague is a great town!
